Securities Analyst

Role Summary

We are seeking a Securities Analyst from our offices in Binyamina, Israel (adjacent to the train station), who can contribute meaningfully from day one in Israeli securities research, while developing into a more senior investment professional over time. This role is focused on producing high-quality, actionable investment research and supporting investment decision-making through disciplined analysis and systems. Success in this role is defined by the ability to produce high-quality, independent investment analysis that contributes directly to portfolio decisions.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities (Day 1 Focus)

Research & Analysis

  • Gathering and analyzing data on the Israeli economy, sectors, and publicly traded companies (TASE and Nasdaq)
  • Monitoring financial statements, regulatory filings, earnings releases, and material developments
  • Producing structured, in-depth equity analysis with clear conclusions

Investment Research Output

  • Producing written research reports, internal investment memos, and investment theses
  • Performing valuation analysis (e.g., DCF, NAV, relative valuation, yield/credit analysis)
  • Formulating and clearly articulating investment theses supported by data

Investment Committee Participation

  • Presenting research and investment ideas to the Investment Committee
  • Defending assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions in a professional setting

Investment Management Support

  • Supporting portfolio management, risk management, and trading processes
  • Analyzing portfolio performance and identifying drivers of underperformance

Success in this role after the first 90 days will include

  • Consistent production of high-quality research output (e.g., equity analyses with clear structure and conclusions)
  • Ability to independently analyze companies and contribute meaningfully to investment discussions
  • Active participation in Investment Committee discussions, with well-supported viewpoints
  • Demonstrated understanding of the firm’s research standards, methodology, and investment philosophy
  • Improved efficiency and organization in research workflows (including use of tools and data sources)

  • Developing data dashboards for fundamental and technical analysis of Israeli securities
  • Increased ownership of investment ideas and portfolio input
  • Expanded role in Investment Committee discussions and decision-making
  • Development of proprietary research tools, models, and analytics
  • Deeper involvement in portfolio monitoring and performance attribution
  • Potential transition into portfolio management and trading responsibilities
  • Participation in quantitative research, back-testing, and systematic strategies
  • Improving and evolving research methodologies using financial platforms and AI tools
  • Mentorship and cross-training with senior portfolio management staff
  • Pursuit of Investment Advisor or Portfolio Manager licensing (U.S./Israel)

Job Requirements

Non-Negotiables (Required on Day 1)

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Math)
  • 3+ years of direct experience analyzing Israeli publicly traded securities (equities and/or bonds)
  • Fluent Hebrew reading and comprehension (financial statements, regulatory filings, local financial press)
  • Strong familiarity with the Israeli capital markets (TASE, local sectors, reporting standards)
  • Ability to independently analyze financial statements and form an investment view
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and methodical
  • Strong ownership mentality and ability to work independently
  • High ethical standards, trustworthy and responsive
  • Strong computer literacy, including Excel (advanced) and financial research platforms

Preferred Experience (Helpful but Not Required on Day 1)

  • Familiarity with financial platforms (e.g., Refinitiv)
  • Experience using AI tools in securities research and analysis
  • Experience with portfolio management or performance analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Professional-level English

Trainable Capabilities (Can Be Developed Over Time)

The following capabilities are not required on Day 1 but are expected to develop over time:

  • Advanced valuation techniques and modeling depth
  • Development of structured research frameworks and screening tools
  • Use of automation and AI to improve research efficiency
  • Portfolio construction and asset allocation understanding
  • Risk analysis, stress testing, and performance attribution
  • Communication and presentation skills at Investment Committee level
